Young Carers
You are a young carer if you:
- Are 18 years old.
- Care for a relative* with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or drug or alcohol problem.
- You do extra jobs around the house, such as cooking, cleaning or helping someone get dressed and move around.
- You provide a lot of physical help to a relative who is disabled or ill.
- You may provide emotional support for a relative.
*a relative could be a parent, carer, brother, sister, grandparent (any relative living in the family home).

Homes Alliance in North Somerset can offer additional support for young carers and their families. You will need to register with them as a young carer to access the support.
