Teacher of English
We are a large, dynamic department with various ranges of experience, committed to giving students the best possible education in English. Our department teaches texts like Sophocles right the way up to present day texts like The Hate You Give. We are looking for a person who has an excellent academic background and a passion for teaching and learning. In our department, we believe in the lifelong learner and grasping opportunities offered in order to shape our pedagogy.
We have students with a variety of educational needs from high to lower prior attainers. We work as a team collaboratively on the curriculum, and we are very proud of its breadth and depth and the offer we give to students. Within the last year, we have celebrated our strong links with the community and our local independent cinema, providing film workshops, performance poetry, debate and the launching of our environmental sustainability campaign. We are dedicated to promoting student voice, especially within our student led library, Xenia, where we celebrate the spoken and written word. In the Xenia plaza, we have hosted Celebrations of Voice; Pride Fest; the Holocaust Memorial Trust Ceremony and many others. We are looking for a candidate with energy, enthusiasm and sparkle.

Futura Learning Partnership is a partnership of schools which span 5 local authority areas: Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Working together to provide a high quality educational experience for all students in their care and be a truly inclusive provider of 3-18 education in the area. We are a mixed MAT, comprising 6 secondary, 21 primary and a special school. We work in partnership with the Diocese of Bath and Wells, which brings considerable benefit to all our schools.
