Clevedon School

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme compliments the broad, varied and exciting enrichment offer at Clevedon School. We offer Bronze/Silver and Gold with expeditions tending to be located on the Mendips/Brecon Beacons and Dartmoor. Through the D of E program students develop their leadership and organisational skills as well as improving their confidence and teamwork, not to mention navigation! As well as the expedition, students also have to independently complete a volunteering placement within the Clevedon community as well as practising a skill and becoming fitter through the physical/sport section. The award along with the wider Clevedon offer encapsulates and nurtures all that is Clevedon School – being kind and brilliant!

The following video documents the challenges faced by 55 of our students who undertook their Bronze expedition on the Mendips in May 2024. It was filmed by a member of staff along with 2 year 11 students who were working to complete their Duke of Edinburgh young leadership award. We think you will enjoy it!
