At Key Stage 3, students follow a core curriculum of:
In addition in Year 7 students also study Dance and a course in a a Literacy Project Based Learning.
We introduce our Year 7 students to our curriculum through ‘The Elements’ approach which has been designed around the work of Martin Robinson and his book ‘Trivium 21stC: Preparing Young People For The Future with Lessons From The Past’. Here students work on 'activating and building knowledge, structuring and developing thinking and identifying and showing achievement’. This includes having a focused day in November around learning skills and ‘The Clevedon Way’.
Years 8 and 9 have an element of choice for two periods a week introduced through a Curriculum Plus Option including the possibility of continuing with Dance, the opportunity to study a second language, extra ICT, Food and Catering, Media Studies, Making Music and Art of Business.
